bringing creativity to the huntington village since 1995

founder and owner of the village artist

Lori mostly works in pastel and oil paints, allowing her to create lush and inviting scenes in her art. She is passionate about painting the beauty of the world around her in landscape and still-life paintings. She seeks to capture the essence of a place at a moment in time, whether it's a local scene or a vacation spot far away. Her skills in emphasizing contrast, implementing beautiful lighting, and utilizing color allow her to present wonderful still-life paintings with meaningful objects.

Lori earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alfred University and a Master of Science in Art Education from Long Island University. She is a certified K-12 art teacher. Additionally, she has continued her art education with post-graduate work in NYC and on Long Island. Lori has been teaching Fine Arts classes on Long Island for over twenty five years both in private and public school settings. The Academy of Fine Arts (Roslyn), North Shore Hebrew Academy (Great Neck), Town of Huntington Creative Arts Program, Half Hallow Hills SD#5, Love of Learning Montessori and West Hills Montessori are some of the institutions where she has taught. In addition to teaching in a school setting, Lori has instructed many private students: children, teens, and adults - in drawing, painting and sculpture.

In 1995, Lori founded The Village Artist Fine Art School in Huntington Village. It is here that Lori has been able to create her true masterpiece: a creative and inspiring environment for anyone interested in exploring their artistic side. An art school that teaches the basics, while letting one develops their own style in a non-competitive, friendly atmosphere. Lori has been able to encourage students of all ages with their talent and unique approach to teaching the fine arts.
