at the Fashion Institute of Technology, the Art Students
League and the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Ms.
Gunthner has always been inspired by both American and
European Impressionists of the late 19th and early 20th
centuries. True to this influence, her paintings are
studies of vibrant color, texture and light. First "impressions"
are rendered quickly followed by a more detailed study
of light, shadow, shape and form. The artist aims to
capture the soul of her subject, while keeping the composition
fresh and alive to the very last stroke.
Anne teaches
summer workshops and fall classes to school age children
at The Village Artist in Huntington, NY. She is an associate
member of the Pastel Society of America as well as a
member of the Portrait Society of America, the Catherine
Lorillard Wolf Art Club, Allied Artists of America,
the Southwest Pastel Society, the Conneticut Pastel
Society, and the Huntington Arts Council. |
| Ms.
Gunthner lives in Huntington, NY with her husband and
two sons. |
