Our Philosophy...
“All
children are artists. The problem is how
to remain an artist once he grows up.”
Pablo Picasso’s
words underscore the philosophy of local artist
Lori Hochberg, founder and director of The Village
Artist Fine Arts Center. Lori opened the center
for people of all ages to discover and nurture the
talented artist within. Other instructors at the
school include artists widely recognized both locally
and nationally for their talent and expertise. Everyone
has an artistic voice within themselves. Our job
is to provide the supportive environment and nurturing
instruction to help you find your own voice. Students
of all ages study with us – kids, teens, and
adults. Our youngest artists are amazed at the beautiful
work they are capable of creating, and some of our
best emerging artists didn’t pick up a brush
until later in life.

Our
Story...
In 1993, we began
as a studio in the basement of Mom & Dad’s house,
known as The Cold Spring Hills Art School. The main focus
of the school was to create an artistic, inspiring atmosphere,
friendly to everyone with an interest in the fine arts.
In 1995, we moved
to a studio in Huntington Village, an area well known throughout
Long Island and New York for its thriving artistic and cultural
scene, and The Village Artist Fine Art School was born!
We began offering year round Fine Art Classes for all ages
and levels of experience: drawing, painting (watercolor,
pastel, oil, acrylic), sculpture, faux finishing / decorative
painting, life drawing, portraiture, cartooning, and portfolio
preparation, to name just a few. In the summer, we run several
art programs for kids and teens, including daily workshops
and an all-important portfolio preparatory program for the
college bound art student. Looking for a unique way to celebrate
your child’s birthday? Throw a Village Artist Art
Birthday Party. Your child picks the project, you bring
the food, and we do the rest.
In
addition to hands-on art instruction and activities, in
Fall 2006 we expanded our art supply product line and custom
frame shop to become……

it in stock, we can order it. Our frame shop has a wide

in custom framing original art. Whatever needs to be
framed, we can professionally frame it. |
